I have only made greens one other time, following my friend’s advice, but as she’s been making ’em so long, she didn’t have measurements or anything like that.

Do you have any advice if I need to make then ahead of time? It’s Friday now and I need them for a luncheon I’m catering on Monday. I can’t do them the day of (it’s a teacher luncheon at the school). How many days ahead of time could I make them and just refrigerate them, or can I make them today (Friday), freeze them, and then thaw them in the fridge overnight on Sunday to reheat (in the oven in a chafing pan) on Monday? Sorry for all the questions.

What my grocer calls a bunch may only have 5-6 leaves, with stem, in it.
I am using a ‘bunch’ of collard and a ‘bunch’ of elephant kale for my greens experiment tonight. Can’t wait to dig in! Yum!

Everyone loved them. I used to never get the taste right or the right consistency of greens so I would buy them from the can and doctor them up. This recipe changed all of that. There are so many recipes out there but watching your video helped me go with this one and boy, I’m glad I did. So, so tasty. I made these for a friend and her large family and shared them with three more sisters as well. All of them asked for more. This will forever be my favorite. Thank you so much for sharing. EL

Awesome recipe! I made it even without the smoked turkey leg! I served it with BBQ chicken wings and honey cornbread, it was 10/10

Truly amazing added both white vinegar and apple cider vinegar. Chunks of ham and finished it with black eyed peas. THANK YOU

Hi!
Did you follow the recipe when cooking with bacon? Or did you sauté the bacon first?
