This action comes in the wake of the 2023 rework of the champion, which unfortunately left him struggling to keep up with the game’s dynamic.

Aurelion Sol’s case is a prime example of this balance. Since his rework, the champion has been grappling with finding his footing, often being on the verge of receiving nerfs due to the difficulties in stabilizing his gameplay.

However, the developers have now decided to enhance Aurelion Sol’s capabilities, particularly considering the new items introduced in Season 14.

Aurelion Sol buffs in Patch 14.3

Q

  • Mana cost per second: 45 + 5 per rank >> 30 + 5 per rank
  • Stack per champion burst: 1 >> 3

W

  • Mana cost: 80 + 5 per rank >> 50 + 5 per rank
  • Cooldown: 22 – 1.5 per rank >> 15 – 1 per rank
  • % Q damage during W: 14% + 1.5% per rank >> 18% + 2% per rank

E

  • Stack per unit that dies in E:
    • Champion: 5 >> 2
    • Epic monster: 5 >> 2
    • Cannon minion: 3 >> 2
    • Large monster: 3 >> 2

Riot Yelough announced that Aurelion Sol would be receiving specific improvements in the PBE servers. These buffs are primarily focused on boosting his performance in the early stages of the game.

Previously, Aurelion Sol was often relegated to a passive role, primarily collecting Stardust throughout the game until reaching a powerful late-game state. This rework transformed him into a powerful champion, eventually unleashing immense damage in the later phases of the game, truly embodying the character’s intended fantasy.

The upcoming changes aim to slightly shift this dynamic. Aurelion Sol will be encouraged to engage more actively in combat, particularly through the use of his Q ability and by roaming with his W.

league

The Q ability will be adjusted to gather more Stardust when inflicting damage on other champions. Additionally, the W ability is set to receive improvements in terms of reduced cooldown, lower mana cost, and increased damage output.

On the other hand, there will be a reduction in the Stardust gained through his E ability, specifically from defeating enemies within its range. This change is intended to balance out the enhancements made to his other abilities.

If these adjustments prove successful in the testing phase, they are scheduled to be implemented in the upcoming Patch 14.3. This patch is expected to be released to the live servers on February 7, 2024.

LoL creators worried about custom skins caused by Vanguard changes https://notagamer.net/lol-creators-custom-skins-vanguard/ https://notagamer.net/lol-creators-custom-skins-vanguard/#respond Tue, 09 Jan 2024 18:22:25 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=68807 As the League of Legends community eagerly anticipates the arrival of the 2024 season, content creators find themselves in a somber state, mourning the potential loss of their cherished creations.

Fears loom large as Riot Games plans to implement the Riot Vanguard system in League of Legends, a move initially designed for Valorant to combat cheaters. Riot’s commitment to a robust anti-cheat system has led to the decision to extend Vanguard’s reach to the League of Legends environment, aiming to crack down on scripts, bots, and various third-party programs.

LoL creators worried about custom skins caused by Vanguard changes 1

The implementation, however, raises concerns among content creators, particularly those who rely on third-party programs to use custom skins for their favorite champions.

New Vanguard changes caused headaches for LoL content creators

The crackdown on third-party tools poses a potential threat to the very essence of these custom creations, leaving creators worried about the future usability of their designs.

One apprehensive player voiced their concern, suggesting that Riot’s announcement regarding the integration of Vanguard to play League is indicative of an imminent incompatibility with custom skins, rendering them practically unusable.

The ripple effect of this decision extends beyond custom skins, impacting tools used by creators to enhance their content.

Renowned League content creator, SkinSpotlights, expressed the significant impact the Vanguard implementation would have on their work. The third-party program integral to their video creation process would face substantial challenges, affecting aspects such as fast video recording, camera positioning, S Marks, interactions, and chromas.

LoL creators worried about custom skins caused by Vanguard changes 2

As the League of Legends landscape evolves with the introduction of Vanguard, content creators navigate the uncertainty surrounding the fate of their contents, hoping for solutions that will allow them to continue adding their unique flair.

The delicate balance between preserving the integrity of the game and accommodating the creative pursuits of the community remains a challenge that Riot Games must address in the ongoing quest for a fair and secure environment.

Riot Games addressed Exclusive Skins issues across various titles https://notagamer.net/riot-games-exclusive-skins-issues/ https://notagamer.net/riot-games-exclusive-skins-issues/#respond Wed, 20 Sep 2023 02:16:44 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=65129 Riot Games recently addressed the issue of exclusive skins across their various titles in a Twitter thread

In recent years, cosmetics have become a crucial aspect of Riot Games, not only in League of Legends but also in other Riot Games’ titles like VALORANT, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra.

To cater to the individual player bases of these games, Riot introduced exclusive skins that were only available within a specific game. While this pleased players, it didn’t sit well with those who played other Riot titles, particularly within the League of Legends universe.

Players noted the thematic similarities between League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and Wild Rift, leading them to question why certain games had exclusive skins. Riot has since begun the process of porting some Wild Rift skins into League of Legends, such as some of the Star Guardian skins.

In response to the discussion, Matt Buchholtz, Riot’s Lead of Legends of Runeterra, clarified that skins are not locked exclusively to one game.

He explained that different teams at Riot create exclusive skins for their respective IPs, which means these skins may not appear in all games simultaneously. However, some skin lines, like Star Guardian and Soul Fighter, are shared across multiple games.

Buchholtz encouraged players to voice their preferences and requests regarding skins in their favorite Riot games’ titles. Riot is open to considering players’ feedback, although he emphasized that requests should be made respectfully and constructively.

Riot has a history of taking player feedback into account, as long as it’s conveyed in a constructive manner. He also provided information on where players can share their feedback.

In summary, this development is welcome news for players who wish to see their favorite skins appear in other Riot Games’ title. Players are encouraged to communicate their preferences, and Riot will internally discuss these requests.

Mythic Items might be removed in LoL preseason 2024, and here’s why https://notagamer.net/mythic-items-removed-lol-preseason-2024/ https://notagamer.net/mythic-items-removed-lol-preseason-2024/#respond Sat, 26 Aug 2023 01:52:55 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=64266 Riot is more likely to remove the Mythic Item system from League of Legends during preseason 2024

Mythic items were included in the early days of the 2021 League preseason, along with a store UI revamp. Despite the community’s mixed opinions regarding new things, notably mythic items, Riot still allows players to develop several build choices around a core item.

However, Riot has altered the functionality of several of these items over time. Since those changes, the most popular items have been Duskblade, Guinsoo, and Statikk Shiv. Even in Patch 13.17, two out of three items have been nerfed or adjusted.

They said in the midseason that this would be a last effort to explore what the Mythic system might achieve. Riot has since expressed their dissatisfaction with the Mythic system. As a result, we might see the system altered in preseason.

Riot Games about Mythic items in League of Legends

Mythic Items has had its share of issues. Riot Phroxzon has since been on the podcast Broken By Concept and discussed Mythic items around a month ago.

Riot Phroxzon commented on how the Mythic Item System may have functioned, such as having more Mythics for each champion and so forth. Yet, that would be a massive task, and it would make the game far too complicated.

kai'sa

As a result, it’s evident that Riot isn’t a fan of the existing Mythic item system. However, Riot Phroxzon mentioned on the same podcast that the ADC Mythic adjustments were partly due to them testing out the system’s future.

Riot Meddler weighed in, saying that the next dev update might go into more detail about it.

Given the views of two important members of League of Legends development team, the Mythic Item System may be phased out. However, the fact that the ADC Mythic changes was successful might change things. So, rather of removing the Mythic Item system, we may see a new version of it in 2024.

Nonetheless, nothing is certain until the Dev blog update is made public. It will be a difficult task to either replace or rebuild the system. So it’ll be fascinating to watch how it works out.

Riot teased Briar, the upcoming Vampire champion through VALORANT cinematic https://notagamer.net/riot-teased-briar-valorant-cinematic/ https://notagamer.net/riot-teased-briar-valorant-cinematic/#respond Thu, 06 Jul 2023 03:17:00 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=62567 Riot has teased a trailer for the forthcoming champion Briar, although it is not from League of Legends.

League of Legends: Briar - Everything so far about the upcoming Noxian vampire champion 1
Image via Riot Games

Riot unveiled four new champions for League of Legends season 13 earlier this year. Millio and Naafiri are two of them who have already been revealed. The new Jungler Brair will be launched following Naafiri.

There isn’t much information available about Brair. However, according to Riot, he will be the game’s first real Vampire champion and will most likely be from Noxus. Riot has also recently published a new teaser for the champion, providing us with further details.

Briar teaser from VALORANT cinematic

Riot produced a cinematic called UNMADE in conjunction with the recent release of VALORANT’s newest agent Deadlock. There are several references to Brair in it. The Norwegian team Deadlock was a member of was apparently called Brair.

In a previous teaser for Deadlock, a folder named Brair was also featured. When Zeri was launched, something similar to this was done. Zeri and Neon were both released in both League and VALORANT at the same time. Briar is also being developed by Riot August, who also made Zeri and Neon. So, there’s a potential we’ll see another simultaneous release for Riot’s other big title.

This new savage jungler’s roots may be traced back to the appearance of Naafiri. Riot Games was on the lookout for mechanisms that mirrored her “fervent hunger.”

Briar is probably definitely a sort of Noxian vampire. She is a Diver/Skirmisher champion, according to Riot Games. The developer even refers to her as ‘the beast,’ hinting that she’ll be a vampiric skirmisher with high-impact plays.

Briar’s release date has yet to be determined. However, she is anticipated to be released around September or October.

“We are building the Future of Sport” – Virtual Pass for LoL Worlds 2023 was revealed https://notagamer.net/virtual-pass-lol-worlds-2023/ https://notagamer.net/virtual-pass-lol-worlds-2023/#respond Fri, 21 Apr 2023 19:15:05 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=60299 In a recent blog post, Riot Games’ President of Esports, John Needham, disclosed that this year League of Legends World Championship would include a “Virtual Pass.”

Riot Games’ head of esports indicated in a One Shot blog post that a new product for League of Legends and Valorant fans will be available for purchase starting with Worlds 2023.

“We are building the Future of Sport” – Virtual Pass for LoL Worlds 2023 was revealed 10
Image via Riot Games

The product is a “Virtual Pass” that may include both digital and physical forms such as in-game skins and Worlds merchant (Worlds skin exclusive variant, in-game event pass, plus some exclusive content,…)

The Virtual Pass’s aims are to provide fans with:

  • A comprehensive online Worlds watching experience;
  • A fantastic value package of products and services;
  • More avenues for them to exhibit their enthusiasm and fandom.

Needham went on to state that he plans to expand the product into Valorant esports next year, as well as provide more “experiential features” for fans.

League of Legends Worlds 2023 Virtual Pass

Riot Games stated that the inspiration for this notion originated from the absence of live event income from esports tournaments when compared to traditional sports.

While League of Legends or Valorant matches may easily sell out, most fans would undoubtedly prefer to watch the tournaments at home for free on social media or streaming platforms.

Other possible esports-specific and team-specific revenue activations were also explored in the blog post, such as Riot’s notion to compensate for a lack of broadcast licensing fees for their league by targeting adverts to fans viewing on their platform.

Worlds 2023 is still months away, and teams have yet to compete in the Mid-Season Invitational, thus the specifics of what will be included in the virtual pass may alter or be adjusted in the near future.

Riot is planning a new Project MMOFPS? – Or so we thought https://notagamer.net/riot-planning-new-project-mmofps-or-so-we-thought/ https://notagamer.net/riot-planning-new-project-mmofps-or-so-we-thought/#respond Wed, 01 Mar 2023 05:00:58 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=59016 The community has heard rumors that Riot is working on a second MMO set in the world of Valorant. But is it actually true?

Update on League MMORPG from dev: “There was actually a strategy in place here!” 1

Riot revealed a number of new games in 2019, including Valorant, one of the most popular first-person shooter games on the market, during the celebration of League of Legends’ tenth anniversary. After Valorant’s enormous success a year later, the company announced that they were developing a new MMORPG title.

But compared to other game genres, MMO development takes the longest. Additionally, Riot is still looking for employees to help develop this game. However, despite all of this, there is rumors that the company may be developing another MMO game. Additionally, this second game is an MMOFPS and is set in the world of Valorant.

Riot Games MMOFPS project

Riot is planning a new Project MMOFPS? - Or so we thought 11

Late in 2021, Joe Ziegler, Valorant’s previous game director, announced his resignation. He stated he wasn’t leaving Riot Games in the news statement. He joined an unidentified project instead. He also stated that they are working on the project in order to only begin to scratch the surface of the incredible effect Valorant has already had. Players assumed it would be a project that was closely connected to Valorant based on this.

The strongest piece of proof, however, a hiring post at Riot Games for an unannounced project, was just made public. They were looking for individuals with expertise creating MMOFPS games, according to the post.

Even though there is proof supporting the project reality, most of it still rests on conjecture. Additionally, some recent disclosures may show that they won’t create a new MMOFPS.

The fact that Riot recently edited the hiring post is the strongest argument against the theory. They previously stated that they were looking for individuals with expertise in MMOFPS, premium mobile, competitive multiplayer, and season-driven ARPG games under the option labeled “Desired Qualifications.”

Riot is planning a new Project MMOFPS? - Or so we thought 12

But Riot has since changed that particular passage. They eventually separated MMO and FPS into 2 categories.

Additionally, since this project is still in the R&D phase, it’s possible that the subsequent project won’t ever be completed. At the very least, it might change into something else.
