League of Legends is no stranger to bugs, both big and small, and these glitches tend to surface especially with the release of new updates or champions. Recently, following the 14.14 update, the community discovered an amusing yet problematic bug.

For reasons not entirely understood, champions utilizing abilities like Ekko, Illao, and certain aspects of Rengar while targeting enemy structures such as Inhibitors or the Nexus, fail to execute their leap. Instead, these champions appear to attack from an extended range, resembling ranged champions.

This bug was thoroughly investigated and confirmed by Vandiril, a prominent content creator known for testing and showcasing it. He conducted an experiment with Ivern and Rengar, revealing that Rengar, even without using his ultimate, could attack the Nexus from within a brush, bypassing the usual melee range restrictions.

The extent of this bug’s impact is still uncertain. It’s unclear whether it affects only Ekko, Illaoi, and Rengar or if it applies to all champions with jump abilities and attack buffs. Nevertheless, this glitch provides significant advantages to these melee champions during late-game fights, allowing them to safely attack structures from a distance, much like ranged champions.

However, exploiting this bug requires the enemy to be pushed back to their Nexus turrets, limiting its impact in the early to mid-game stages. Thus, while it presents a notable advantage in certain situations, it doesn’t offer an overwhelming benefit for consistent rank climbing. Despite this, it is significant enough that Riot Games will need to address it promptly to maintain game balance and fairness.

In summary, this bug, although humorous at first glance, creates an unfair advantage for specific champions when attacking key enemy structures. Riot Games will likely prioritize a fix to ensure the gameplay consistency.

Riot August revealed abandoned LoL ult that rewind the entire match https://notagamer.net/riot-august-abandoned-lol-ult-rewind-entire-match/ https://notagamer.net/riot-august-abandoned-lol-ult-rewind-entire-match/#respond Wed, 21 Feb 2024 10:48:26 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=70719 Riot Games on old Ekko ult that would rewind the entire game

Riot Games, known for its mix of characters in League of Legends, invests considerable effort in crafting unique champions with distinct gameplay mechanics and visual designs. Ekko stands out as one of the game’s most ambitious creations, wielding the power to manipulate time itself through his Z-Drive.

August, a prominent lead designer at Riot Games, spearheaded Ekko’s development, pushing the boundaries of what a champion could achieve. Among the myriad ideas explored during Ekko’s conceptualization phase was an audacious ultimate ability that promised to rewind the entire match by a staggering 8 seconds, as disclosed by Riot August.

Riot August revealed abandoned LoL ult that rewind the entire match 3

“The way it worked was Ekko would hit his ultimate and throw the entire map into the timestream for 8 seconds. We grab all the relevant statistics about them, their health, their cooldowns, their position on the map and we’d save it.”

This revolutionary concept involved Ekko triggering his ultimate, plunging the entire battlefield into the timestream for a brief interval. During this temporal time, crucial game data such as champion health, cooldowns, and positional information would be meticulously recorded and then reset after the designated duration.

In theory, this ultimate ability held the potential to redefine the very fabric of League of Legends gameplay, allowing for unprecedented strategic depth and exhilarating moments.

Breakout True Damage Ekko

Riot August elaborated on the gameplay dynamics, describing team fights where players would unleash their abilities with reckless abandon, knowing they would soon regain their potency.

However, despite its awe-inspiring potential, the proposed ultimate faced numerous challenges and gameplay implications that ultimately led to its demise. August highlighted the disruptive nature of rewinding the entire map, which could confound player expectations and create disorienting experiences.

Moreover, concerns about the ultimate’s impact on game balance and player enjoyment surfaced during internal testing, prompting a QA tester to issue a stern warning of potential permabans for Ekko.

Faced with these critical evaluations and recognizing the need to preserve the integrity of the game’s core experience, August made the difficult decision to abandon the ambitious ultimate concept in favor of the more refined Chronobreak ability seen in Ekko’s current form.

While the scrapped ultimate may remain a tantalizing glimpse into the game’s developmental history, its legacy serves as a testament to Riot Games’ unwavering commitment to innovation and the relentless pursuit of excellence in champion design.

New Controversial Gacha skin Breakout True Damage Ekko: Splash Art, Price, Release Date, and More https://notagamer.net/gacha-skin-breakout-true-damage-ekko/ https://notagamer.net/gacha-skin-breakout-true-damage-ekko/#respond Wed, 25 Oct 2023 14:39:03 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=66243 Riot Games has recently introduced an exciting addition to League of Legends – the Breakout True Damage Ekko skin, a mythic variant skin that accompanies the release of the Heartsteel skins.

While this new skin is bound to excite fans of the iconic mid-lane champion Ekko, it’s also likely to create some hard enthusiasts, potentially stoking further discontent among players.

Following the game’s tradition of in-game bands to celebrate the annual World Championship, Riot Games has unveiled not only the new HEARTSTEEL skins but also a fresh Mythic Variant in the form of Breakout True Damage Ekko.

Breakout True Damage Ekko

This marks the second Mythic Variant skin in League, the first being Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin. However, the release of Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin several months ago sparked a significant controversy within the community, primarily due to its high price tag.

In a recent developer post, Riot’s product lead for the skins team, known as Riot 100 pc nuggets, admitted that Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin had fallen short of players’ expectations. To address this issue, the team has dedicated more time and effort to create Breakout True Damage Ekko. This Mythic Variant skin boasts updated VFX characterized by dark blue and golden accents, along with changes to various aspects of Ekko’s recall and SFX. These changes are designed to align with the new theme of hip-hop that this skin intends to portray.

However, there’s a catch when it comes to acquiring the True Damage skin. Players can only obtain it by opening a specific capsule. Although there’s a small chance of getting the skin right away, on the 30th attempt, you are guaranteed to receive the mythic skin.

But here’s the kicker: if you were to open the capsule 30 times, it would cost you a hefty $200. Many players find this pricing strategy, especially for what essentially amounts to a recolor of an existing skin, to be exorbitant.

If you’re eager to get your hands on Breakout True Damage Ekko, you won’t have to wait too long. It is expected to be available for testing on League’s PBE in the next few days. This new skin will likely be introduced into the game alongside the HEARTSTEEL skins with the release of Patch 13.22, scheduled for November 8.

Project L: Release date, characters, and netcode https://notagamer.net/project-l-release-date-characters-and-netcode/ https://notagamer.net/project-l-release-date-characters-and-netcode/#respond Wed, 03 Aug 2022 08:03:19 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=48799 With Project L, a League of Legends fighting game, Riot Games is going to leave its stamp on the FGC.

The developer recently provided LoL and FGC fans with an update on Project L’s development status and provided a brief preview of its fighting system.

Here is all we currently know about Project L, including its characters, commands, and rollback netcode information.

Project L

Project L: Release date, characters, and netcode 7

The League of Legends creator Riot Games is working on a free-to-play, assist-based fighting game called Project L.

The game will include several League of Legends champions as well as Runeterra locations like Piltover and Zaun.

Project L: Release date, characters, and netcode 8

As executive producer and technical lead, respectively, Tom and Tony Cannon are in charge of overseeing the game’s development. Additionally, the two co-founded the GGPO rollback netcode scheme and the Evolution Championship Series, a famous FGC event.

Release date

Project L’s release date has not yet been made public.

The most recent official update from Riot Games occurred in November 2021 and it covered RiotX Arcane-related gameplay mechanics and new characters.

Fighters

So far, there would be five League of Legends champions being tested by the developer:

  • Ahri
  • Darius
  • Ekko
  • Jinx
  • Katarina
  • Illaoi
Project L: Release date, characters, and netcode 9

Basic controls

Players choose a main fighter and an assist character who aids in attacks and extends combinations in the 2.5D format of the game.

The most recent video highlighted Darius’ combos and demonstrated the kinds of inputs fans of fighting games may anticipate.

The game has so far shown two command kinds with three versions each, A and S. (A1, A2, and A3).

Darius’ sample moves

  • Apprehend: S1
  • Apprehend (enemy mid-air): d+S1
  • Apprehend (headbutt followup): S1, A1
  • Apprehend (slash followup) S1, A3

Moreover, fighters will also have special moves that can be used for a flashy combo.

Rollback netcode

The game is confirmed to use rollback netcode for online multiplayer.

Riot Games has said that during latency spikes, just the player who is lagging would be impacted for the duration of the game. The netcode can decide who should win and who should be penalized if a player withdraws from a match.

Riot Direct will be used by Project L to route gamers and reduce latency during online gaming. League of Legends and Valorant have already begun using this internal network.

Will the game be released sooner than we could have imagined?

Riot is now hard at work on the next fighting game: Project L. No name has been revealed as of yet, but perhaps the big reveal will come in the following weeks.

Riot Games hasn’t released much information on Project L. This is to be expected, considering they stated in their teaser all those years ago that they were going ‘dark.’

Project L could be introduced at this year’s EVO?

However, other reports suggest that the League of Legends fighting title will be available at this year’s EVO, or at the very least, a more in-depth display.

They indicated in their most recent talk that the updates will take place somewhere in the second half of 2022. With EVO coming on August 5th, we should get a more in-depth demonstration of what the game is all about.

Riot might do it again, given that they formally introduced Project L at EVO 2019.

EVO is the world’s largest fighting game event, as well as one of the oldest esports events, thus making an introduction to the game here would be ideal. Riot will most likely make their move during EVO 2022 to get people pumped up for this upcoming game.

We last heard anything about Project L eight months ago, with a brief teaser during the Riot x Arcane event. We saw Ekko and Jinx with a Piltover backdrop, so we’re hoping for a lot more information in the following weeks.

The largest League of Legends event in 2022 will be Star Guardian. To promote the occasion, Riot even published an official ‘anime’ teaser.

There have also been various leaks about the event thus far. Akali and Kaisa’s in-game models were recently revealed. Furthermore, Riot previously unintentionally revealed Star Guardian Rell. However, the entire roster is now exposed owing to the keyword from Riot’s teaser.

Bess, a League of Legends player, researched the keywords for the video and discovered the entire list of champions along with the main keyword ‘Star Guardian.’

Riot’s official Star Guardian 2022 teaser has unveiled all of the champions that will receive the skins. In addition, 9 champions would feature in the year’s biggest event. Nilah, the upcoming melee bot lane champion, is also mentioned in the keywords.

However, you may watch the video since it contains hints about the champions who will appear in Star Guardian 2022. Some hints concerning Kai’Sa, Sona, and Seraphine are obvious, while others may be more difficult to notice.

Despite the fact that the keywords reveal nine champions, prior leaks indicated that 10 champions will receive Star Guardian skins in 2022. Caitlyn was previously leaked, however, she is not on the list, nor is Rell. If Riot releases 10 skins in total, one of the champions mentioned above should be on the list.

Zeri – The Spark of Zaun – League’s newest ADC champion revealed https://notagamer.net/zeri-the-spark-of-zaun-league-newest-adc-revealed/ https://notagamer.net/zeri-the-spark-of-zaun-league-newest-adc-revealed/#respond Wed, 05 Jan 2022 03:30:12 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=41026 Finally, another ADC will be added to the role – Zeri – The Spark of Zaun.

The new year has only just begun, but Riot Games is already kicking off 2022 with a bang for League of Legends players. Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, the game’s newest champion, has been formally revealed by the devs.

According to her official biography, Zeri is a “headstrong, energetic young lady from Zaun’s working-class” who charges herself and her custom rifle with electric magic. Her abilities also reflect her emotions, and being a profoundly caring individual, “Zeri brings the love of her family and her home into every fight.”

Zeri is also confirmed to be an AD carry champion, with Ekko mentioned in her biography as a linked champion. It’s unclear how these two will connect in the region’s narrative at this moment, although she may emerge in future stories.

Zeri
Image via Riot Games

According to her legend, Zeri was born with magic, and her electric personality and powers influenced both people and power outages. Some people adored her, but others despised her because she had the potential to wreak serious harm if she became very passionate. However, a terrible occurrence helped her realize her place and drive in the world, as well as how to harness her skills.

Uncontrolled subterranean excavations sponsored by chem-barons produced an earthquake in Zaun one day, causing numerous buildings to collapse and imprison inhabitants within. She utilized her abilities to assist save as many people as she could, but there were too many problems for her to handle on her own. As a consequence, she realized she needed to put a stop to the chem-barons before another “mining accident” killed another village.

Although Zeri was able to eliminate some chem-baron supply lines, there was only so much she could accomplish on her own. The chem-barons fought her off, yet there were silver linings in her disappointments and failures. Her family embraced her with wide arms, and they all rose to battle the people who had caused them so much pain. Zeri’s mother even made her a firearm that used her abilities as bullets. She is now fighting for those who are too weak to stand.

Zeri
Image via Riot Games

The Spark of Zaun is described as being very eccentric, not quite fitting in with her peers in Zaun. Though many of the Zaunite inhabitants possessed the capabilities of using magic, none stood out like Zeri, whose electrifying talents reflected the intense emotions that she often displayed.

Much like Janna and Seraphine, who also hail from Zaun, Zeri’s appearance starkly contrasts everyday inhabitants of Zaun, reflecting her nature to be herself and not succumb to the corruption of the streets. Her bright yellow ponytails stand out as one of her most defining traits, though the rifle attached to her right hand signals a life of which she seeks to help others using her powers that were once looked down upon.

Though Zeri, the Spark of Zaun, has not yet been released to the PBE or live servers, players can expect to discover more about this ADC as her official release date approaches.

Image via Riot Games

Riot chose to delay the official release of the Firelight Ekko skin not long after players began testing it on the Public Beta Environment. This comes as a result of community outrage over the Arcane-based skin.

Riot main skin producer Katana revealed that the skin will be delayed “for a few patches” to allow for the inclusion of new SFX, which was the most noticeable part for fans. The sound effects of Firelight Ekko were a major source of complaint among LoL fans, who felt they were insufficient for an epic skin that would most likely cost 1,350 RP. This was something that players immediately saw in the Firelight Ekko skin preview.

“We completely agree that SFX are a standard and expected part of an Epic skin,”

“While we do everything we can to avoid delaying content, we’re going to hold off from shipping this skin for a few patches to work on adding new SFX.”

Add to that, Riot will also add a special Homeguard animation to the skin, a hoverboard flying out of the base and some “small adjustments” to his VFX. Perhaps this animation might increase the skin’s worth for players who want their Ekko to stand out on the Rift.

Riot responded to fans' complaints, delaying the upcoming Firelight Ekko skin 31

Firelight Ekko is a skin that will be released to commemorate the debut of Riot Games’ animated series Arcane. He will be the fifth champion to acquire an Arcane-themed skin, following Jinx, Vi, Caitlyn, and Jayce.

When the skin is released, players can expect a higher-quality VFX with improved voice, aesthetics, and even a Homeguard animation included as a bonus to compensate for the delays.

Riot has not yet provided an official release date for the Firelight Ekko. As mentioned, it appears that it might be more than one patch delayed and, as a result, will most likely not be released until 2022.

League of Legends’ popularity has skyrocketed after Riot Games’ animated series, Arcane, which inspired the dev to create skins for characters in the series.

Jinx, Vi, Jayce, and Caitlin, with the primary role in the film has their own Arcane skins. Players didn’t even have to pay for it to get these limited-time skins because they could be obtained through playing and winning games.

As the series continues to make spotlight across the world, fans have been clamoring for Ekko to be given an Arcane-themed skin. Riot has delivered in the shape of Firelight Ekko, but some players aren’t thrilled with the price that comes with it.

On the r/leagueoflegends Reddit forum, one post that have seen surprisingly high upvotes, claiming the fact that the skin isn’t worth what they are paying for (1350 RP).

Fans criticize the developers for thinking Riot is trying to test how much value they can remove out of their systems and still charge players more money.

“Great visual effects. However there are no new sound effects on his basic attacks or abilities.”

“Based on our current guidelines and precedents on skin prices, this skin should have new SFX added (which I think Ekko mains would appreciate). Or it should simply be a 975 RP skin.”

With that many upvotes after only a day of uploading, it’s evident that fans agree about the price. Players also suggested that Ekko should wear his iconic owl mask shown from the show, with players able to toggle it on and off, much like Kai’sa or Rengar’s hood.

Still, however, it remains to be seen whether Riot responds to the forum and adds any new SFX, VFX or not.
