In a recent stream, Riot Games’ August expressed his dislike for the Summoner’s Spell Teleport but acknowledged that it is an essential part of the game. August openly admitted that he is not a fan of the Teleport spell, yet he believes it is too important to remove, especially for top lane players.

He emphasized that Teleport provides a significant advantage to players who use it over those who choose Ignite because it allows them to return to the lane quickly and make up for lost minions and experience points.

“I do not like that TP. As a defensive Summoner’s Spell, you take it, you win your lane,”

August finds it frustrating that Teleport, a spell intended to be defensive, gives players an edge over those who opt for more aggressive spells like Ignite. However, he also recognized how crucial Teleport is for top lane players, who depend on it. Top lane mains rely on Teleport for split-pushing, ganking other lanes, and surviving tough situations.

“TP creates a lot of important things for the game, especially in regards to top lane,”

One solution August suggested to address this issue is to start the game with Teleport on cooldown. This way, if a player dies in the early levels, they will justifiably lose the lane. However, he did not seem entirely convinced by his own suggestion.

In the current meta, particularly in higher ranks and competitive play, Teleport is arguably the most crucial spell in League of Legends. Many top laners and mid laners pick it, and sometimes even bot lane duos opt for the spell.

In the final of the 2024 Esports World Cup between Top Esports and T1, every top laner and mid laner selected Teleport along with Flash in each of the four games, according to Leaguepedia.

Casual players also favor Teleport. The combination of Teleport and Flash is the most popular, chosen by 25.6% of players. This shows that the spell is not only vital in pro  play but also widely used and appreciated by the general player base.

League of Legends: Teleport is forced to be changed again to improve top lane https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-teleport-changed-again/ https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-teleport-changed-again/#respond Tue, 09 Jul 2024 18:26:18 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=75974 In an effort to make the top lane more interactive in League of Legends Season 14, the Riot Games balance team is set to rework the Teleport summoner spell once again.

Throughout its decade-long history in League of Legends, the Summoner Spell has undergone numerous changes. Now, it is once more under adjustments. Riot Games is concerned about how top laners can easily dominate their lanes using the Rift-hopping spell and aims to reduce its power and influence.

On July 8, League balance boss Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison acknowledged that this rework has been anticipated for a long time.

“It’s been a long time coming, but we’re investigating changes to Teleport to resolve its ability to wash lanes, while also still avoiding the bot lane party”

There are two main challenges in Phroxzon’s balance plan as the League team works on the Spell in preparation for the 2024 World Championship.

First, any significant changes made in Season 14 could potentially bring back the “bot lane” issue, where Teleport allows tanky top laners to join the bot lane fights too easily—a situation Riot wants to avoid.

Second, the team has yet to find a solution that works well in testing.

Phroxzon didn’t specify the exact changes Riot has been testing, and he likely won’t reveal them soon. However, he did describe the attempts as “inelegant.” We can expect to learn more about some of these planned changes later this week.

Riot has a long history of altering Teleport and its effects. Since the League alpha, the spell has seen over 100 changes. Notable updates included making it uncancellable in Season 9 and an overhaul in Season 12.

Currently, Teleport has a base cooldown of 360 seconds and transforms into a more versatile Unleashed Teleport at the 10-minute mark.

The League balance team hopes that the upcoming changes to Teleport will help create a more interactive and balanced top lane experience for players.

When League of Legends Patch 13.10 goes live, it will bring quite significant changes. Riot Games developer Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison already shared some specifics for these more complete changes.

The game’s lead designer didn’t go into specifics, but we can already tell that the gameplay will never be the same again due to alterations to many systems.

League Patch 13.10 Preview

“We’d like to ship medium+ sized system changes (like Durability Update) more than once a year and will be monitoring how players feel about this rate of change. Similar to the Durability Update, we wanted to solve several player painpoints and to add some exciting content.”

In addition, additional portions of the map will be tweaked, and the Blastcone spawn timing will be modified. Laners will have to be on their watch throughout the laning phase, as trinkets and Unleashed Teleport, which is a crucial tool for top and mid laners, are scheduled to be altered.

Having saying that, there aren’t too many champion changes coming in patch 13.10, albeit it’s not exactly easy viewing. After Ivern’s midscope upgrade was postponed somewhat, only Neeko and various ADCs are being modified.

With that said, players should prepare themselves as patch 13.10 will hit live servers on May 17.

League PBE: New Teleport and Fountain changes could drastically change the meta-game https://notagamer.net/league-pbe-new-teleport-and-foundtain-changes/ https://notagamer.net/league-pbe-new-teleport-and-foundtain-changes/#respond Thu, 04 May 2023 00:54:54 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=60660 One specific summoner spell in League of Legends that is highly favoured among top laners may soon become a must-pick for all players of that role.

Riot Games has introduced a large upgrade to the Teleport summoner spell, making it Unleashed Teleport at 10 minutes rather than 14 minutes, among the other modifications to items and systems presently being tested on League’s PBE.

This will allow top laners—and those in other lanes who bring the spell—to be more influential throughout the map early, perhaps leading to quicker overall game timings.

League of Legends PBE Teleport and Fountain changes

  • Mana regen increased from 2.1% max mana to 3.1%
  • Unleashed Teleport timer reduced from 14:00 to 10:00
  • Homeguard timer reduced from 20:00 to 14:00
So, just why is The Fountain called The Fountain? : leagueoflegends

Riot originally introduced Unleashed Teleport to League as part of preseason 2022 as a way to reduce the spell’s usefulness in the early game. Players could only TP to ally turrets within the first 14 minutes of the game after this update.

After then, the spell would be transformed into Unleashed Teleport, granting players access to all of the places that TP previously targeted, including minions and wards.

Although it is still used frequently in professional play because of how significant it can be in starting a team fight—and even the odd back-door triumph, Teleport as a whole has fallen out of favor in solo queue that got replaced by more aggressive spells like Ignite.

This modification is currently being tested on League’s PBE and is likely to be released to live servers sometime after MSI and before the start of the second-ranked split on July 17 as of Patch 13.10.

Because this is a significant change that could easily change the current meta of the game, it is possible that it will be altered or completely reversed before players can get their hands on it.

As additional information about the League 2023 preseason became available, people began to look at some of the new things Riot Games intends to introduce to the in-game shop. And some have found two additional hidden items that might permanently transform the way team strategy and develop.

2 items that could replace Teleport

Spideraxe20 pointed out a unique boot in the shop dubbed “Boots of Teleportation” on his Twitter in the PBE release.

These boots are made of a Ruby Crystal and Boots of Speed and cost 1,200 gold. The impacts, on the other hand, have piqued the interest of every players.

A champion can channel for four seconds before teleporting to a place near an ally champion, turret, minion, or ward with the boots. This active ability has a cooldown of 240 seconds, which is one minute less than the existing cooldown for the Teleport summoner spell.

In a related manner, a new item known as the “Sword in the Stone” was also discovered. Destiny’s Call, the item’s active ability, also allows a player to teleport to an allied champion after a four-second channel, and will shield all close teammates on arrival, similar to Shen’s ult.

However, shortly after these items were revealed, designer Phlox indicated that they would not be released anytime soon and were just early research for top lane.

Even said, the prospect of teleportation has many players wondering if Riot intends to phase away teleport as a summoner spell in the future and instead make it into purchasable items that anybody can use.

The concepts are intriguing, but Riot should not implement them anytime soon.

Teleport is bugged, giving it extra advantages https://notagamer.net/teleport-is-bugged-giving-it-extra-advantages/ https://notagamer.net/teleport-is-bugged-giving-it-extra-advantages/#respond Wed, 17 Aug 2022 12:49:56 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=49750 In League of Legends, Teleport is a common Summoner Spell, though Riot has recently made an effort to considerably reduce its power. However, a flaw that can shorten its cooldown by minutes has allowed its full potential to be realized.

In League of Legends, Teleport is just as important as Flash for specific characters and lanes. Playing without the summoner spells seems strange because they are used so frequently together, especially in the top and mid lanes.

Recently, Riot has made an effort to reduce the former’s influence. The summoner spell’s early effectiveness has decreased due to many cooldown increases for Teleport and the addition of a new Unleashed Teleport, but its late-game potency has not diminished.

teleport bug

The new summoner spell was added at the beginning of Season 12, but a recently discovered bug may have existed since then and may have truly unleashed its power.

Players have been able to reduce Unleashed Teleport’s cooldown by as much as a minute utilizing a variety of circumstances, according to ‘Vandiril,’ a seasoned bug hunter, who made the observation on Twitter.

First, when the TP occurs 14 minutes into the game, Teleport must be on cooldown. The player must then have developed some Ability Haste. After the 14-minute transition, the Unleashed Teleport cooldown ought to be the same, but the Ability Haste actually shortens the cooldown.

It just applies to the upcoming cast, but given that the gap may be as much as a minute, there is a lot of tempo that could be created as a result, and professional players have been gaining surprising advantages as a result.

Riot has not publicly acknowledged the flaw, but considering its significance, a remedy should be available soon. It’s just another example of spaghetti code as we know it. The next time you boot into Summoner’s Rift with Teleport, it might be wise to keep this technology in mind since you could surprise enemies.

patch 11.24 preview

The Durability Update in Patch 12.10, the largest mid-season update, and the subsequent adjustments to the meta have kept the community changing their gameplay constantly.

The latest Patch 12.14 is no exception, bringing about a significant adjustment in Map Objective, as well as champions, items, buffs and debuffs, and rune modifications.

Recently, a user from Reddit has calculated the stats that each Dragon will give upon their execution: After capturing a single drake, the team will gain around 2500 Gold in stats. In terms of pure numbers, the Cloud Drake is the winner; the movement speed it provides is now worth 560 Gold per player.

See the source image
Image via Riot Games

However, since Mountain and Infernal Buff deliver % stat rather than flat stat, it’s more difficult to measure their value – but they’re still quite powerful.

For example, a single stack of Infernal’s buff increases combat stats by about 350G at 100AP/AD, 700G at 200AP/AD, and so on, making it an incredibly strong scaling buff.

The meta appears to be shifting towards early and mid-game setups as Drakes’ effects grow considerably greater since both teams now have a tremendous reason to battle the bot-side objective.

This adjustment will also have a significant influence on the top lane meta. Even though the proposed Teleport nerfs did not make it live, top laners will have to make the most use of their Teleport whenever there is a team fight near the bot lane.

Patch 12.14 is preparing to release a slew of adjustment changes ahead of Worlds. These modifications will aim to shake up the current champion meta.

While there will be a number of champion improvements, the main highlights of the patch will be the nerfs to several of the enchanter items’ healing and shields.

Aside from that, another highlight of the patch that has found its way to the PBE is the Teleport modification.

Teleport Cooldown nerfs: 360 >> 420s, Unleashed Cooldown unchanged

New Teleport change will once again affect the Top lane meta 7

Riot Games intends to extend the Teleport cooldown period by 1 minute, bringing it from 360 seconds to 420 seconds.

With Worlds 2022 just close by, players believe Riot is going out of hands to wreak havoc on the top lane meta, which is already in a bad shape in season 12 due to the already difficult role.

Teleport is probably the second most used Summoners’ Spell in the entire game, just after Flash, and even though it is used mostly by Top laners in solo-queue, the Spell is frequently used in professional scenes across different roles.

New Teleport change will once again affect the Top lane meta 8
TP rework in Patch 11.25

The meta then changed drastically after the Unleashed Teleport rework, and so it may happen again after this nerfs. However, there is a bright side to this; we believe that further nerfing the top lane will move the meta back to Flash and Ignite, making it even more fascinating to watch Worlds.

Overall, the devs have a slew of balanced adjustments planned for League of Legends patch 12.14, which is set to release on July 27.

Top laners are rushing Hullbreaker as 1st item and here’s why https://notagamer.net/toplaners-rushing-hullbreaker-1st-item-heres-why/ https://notagamer.net/toplaners-rushing-hullbreaker-1st-item-heres-why/#respond Mon, 14 Feb 2022 09:46:08 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=42348
Top laners are rushing Hullbreaker as 1st item and here's why 9

The constant gameplay against minions makes top laners rush Hullbreaker as their first item

Top lane in season 12 is being adjusted rapidly due to a series of Riot Games modifications, which has a significant impact on any match. Because of the Teleport rework, top laners always stuck in their lane before the 14th minute, when it is only possible to use TP to roam effectively. Even for many, top lane has practically no effect in the game in the opening 14 minutes.

Top laners are rushing Hullbreaker as 1st item and here's why 10
Teleport Rework has changed top lane entirely

This gave birth to Janna or, more generally, the roaming Smite top meta, with its continuous roaming and ganking, making the opposing laners immensely fed for the objective bounty system to get into used.

Top laners, of course, will never accept that they have become “outsiders” in this game. As a result, they turned to the Hullbreaker as a tool to assist top laners in winning the fight on their own.

What makes Hullbreaker so powerful is because of its stats. With only 2800 gold, you are getting 50 AD, 400 HP, and around 25 armor/magic resistance from it’s passive. This is a large amount for an item that only costs 2800 gold, implying that gamers may easily win the early phases of the combat using Hullbreaker.

Because of this dominance, Hullbreaker becomes an extremely powerful item on champions who don’t have a good Mythic item. Furthermore, having an additional 20% damage on the turret will speed things up of pushing the lane and obtaining the turret. This is the perfect counter to the roaming Smite top meta as your opponent while abandon their role to roam across the map, making use of the Hullbreaker’s passive.

In short, with the meta Smite top meta, Hullbreaker is becoming incredibly effective in assisting champions in pushing their lane, hitting the opponent exceptionally forcefully in most instances.

How Janna Smite Top lane is changing League https://notagamer.net/how-janna-smite-top-lane-is-changing-league-2/ https://notagamer.net/how-janna-smite-top-lane-is-changing-league-2/#respond Fri, 28 Jan 2022 16:35:41 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=41787 Changes to Teleport have also changed the meta with this Janna playstyle
How Janna Smite Top lane is changing League 12

Playing a viable support champion, such as Janna or Karma, and then choosing out of interacting with your lane opponent after only a few levels is the new Smite top style. The support uses smite and plans to ambush the opponent jungler’s camp or steal their buff.

After then, the support champion lanes will remain active until they have gained a few levels, at which point they will leave their lane and roam across the map. They ensure a gold disadvantage by leaving the opponent’s top laner alone, allowing their side to gain benefits in objectives elsewhere on the map. They plan to snowball the remainder of the map and collect on bounties put up by the loss of the top lane by roaming with the jungler and ganking other lanes.

Taking Smite into the top lane is the newest technique to deceive League’s rebound systems into granting teams more gold.

Objective bounties, which were added recently, provide additional gold rewards to objectives for losing teams. Smite top lane on champions who never farm and can still be useful such as supports like Janna turns out to be a gold mine for teams who aren’t truly losing.

It’s a dangerous strategy, but inducing a fake loss by manipulating the objective bounty system isn’t a good one to establish in terms of playability. In its most recent episode, the LCS podcast “The Dive” even talked about the topic, as well as the rising trend of roaming strategy.

An example of earlier gold system abuses in League of Legends stands out as being comparable to this recent issue.  There was also a time in the professional play when lane bully top laners would take support items and just harass their lane opponent in order to rack up a hefty bounty on them while keeping even an effective amount of gold.

Riot has already slammed these abusing strategies, and if Janna, or any support champions, brings smite top lane becomes popular, it will most certainly be shut down as well.
