League of Legends Patch 13.22 Preview: Mage Buffs, Briar Nerfs, Brand Adjustments, and More https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-patch-13-22-preview/ https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-patch-13-22-preview/#respond Tue, 31 Oct 2023 13:32:21 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=66466 Riot Games is gearing up for a slightly more subdued League of Legends balance cycle as they take a moment to catch their breath in preparation for the exciting Season 14 ahead.

LoL patch 13.22 is set to bring a mix of buffs, nerfs, and adjustments that promise to have a significant impact when it arrives in November. Riot is committed to making every alteration count in this upcoming update, ensuring the game’s evolving meta remains engaging and balanced.

Specifically, you can expect to see 3 champions receiving buffs, 7 getting the nerf treatment, and 3 undergoing substantial adjustments in patch 13.22, according to Riot Phroxzon. Riot’s watchful eye has been closely tracking these champions throughout the progression of Season 13, making these changes particularly noteworthy.

In a departure from the norm, the dev team has opted not to tinker with items or runes in this patch, and gameplay systems will remain untouched. This suggests a focus on champion balance and the fine-tuning of the existing ecosystem rather than introducing new variables into the mix.

LoL players requested this ‘essential’ skin feature that’s been lacking for years https://notagamer.net/lol-players-skin-features-lacking-for-years/ https://notagamer.net/lol-players-skin-features-lacking-for-years/#respond Tue, 26 Sep 2023 09:44:57 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=65338 League of Legends players have expressed a strong desire for a significant quality-of-life improvement regarding skins, a feature that has been noticeably absent from the game for many years.

Players are frustrated with Riot Games for not implementing a straightforward skin preview system, which would enable potential buyers to make informed decisions about their purchases.

The recent release of the Dark Erasure Jhin cosmetic has reignited this discussion, with the LoL community advocating for improvements in various aspects of skins and their associated features.

LoL players demand an in-game skin preview

The absence of an in-game preview feature was a topic of conversation on a Reddit thread on September 23.

The original poster expressed confusion as to why Riot hasn’t already introduced such a simple addition to the in-game shop. This issue is particularly significant for champions with complex mechanics, as alterations in VFX or SFX can significantly impact the feel of playing a champion.

Other users also weighed in on the matter. While the original poster was genuinely puzzled by Riot’s stance, some speculated on why the feature hasn’t been implemented.

LoL players requested this ‘essential’ skin feature that’s been lacking for years 6
Image via Riot Games

“Because most skins are ugly if you look at them up close. That’s why. And in that case, less people would buy.”

“I presume the reason is that they don’t want you to think about it, they want you to impulse buy skins.”

One user suggested that cosmetics might not look as good up close, and previews could potentially reduce sales. Another theory proposed that Riot is emphasizing elements like splash art and backstory to entice impulse purchases of these cosmetics.

Whether Riot decides to implement this feature ultimately rests with them, but given the immense popularity of skins and their universe in League of Legends, there is certainly potential for such an addition to be considered in the future.

The 2023 League of Legends season has seen so many buffs, nerfs, and important system changes that it’s almost impossible to keep up.

Things aren’t getting any easier with the pre-update League Patch 13.11 announcements, which were posted on Twitter by the title’s development team.

LoL Patch 13.11 Preview

High-skill champions like Akali, Kalista, and Twisted Fate are on Riot’s radar for the next wave of buffs. Renekton, Rek’Sai, and Azir will all receive minor buffs, while five champions will be nerfed: Aurelion Sol, Jinx, Aphelios, Kog’Maw, and Amumu.

According to League statistic site OP.GG, the seven champions receiving buffs in patch 13.11 are among the least popular, with Akali having the highest pick rate at just 3.46% in all games above Platinum. Twisted Fate (49.7 percent) is the closest to parity in terms of decent win rates among the seven champions.

And, of these champions nerfs, Aphelios is the most shocking because, unlike the other champions, he currently boasts a less-than-stellar win rate of 48.47% in League queues. So, if anything, he needs to be buffed.

Items like as the Duskblade of Draktharr, Kraken Slayer, Moonstone Renewer, and Navori Quickblades have also been improved. The majority of these items were extensively modified in League Patch 13.10 just a few days ago, with Riot devs clearly dissatisfied with how they’ve been performing over the last fortnight.

Some items that are outperforming are being nerfed, including Ardent Censer, Echoes of Helia, Galeforce, Stormrazor, and Youmuu’s Blade, which received fresh changes as recently as League Patch 13.10.

Remember that these League adjustments are still in test until they go live. League Patch 13.11 is set to be released on June 1, 2023.

Yuumi Mini-rework 2023 revealed: Abilities, Release date, and more 1
Image via Riot Games

The most noticeable change in the upcoming patch is probably the Yuumi mini-rework. Riot announced last week that they would finally be paying attention to League fans and altering the notorious floating cat Yuumi.

Every one of her skills is up for change, so these aren’t minor tweaks either; we anticipate they’ll significantly impact how she performs. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see, but it’s a pretty comprehensive catalog of improvements, adjustments, and complete overhauls of abilities.

With that being said, League Patch 13.5 is expected to hit on the live servers on March 8th.

Aside from the buffs, champions like Fiora, K’Sante, Yuumi, Zeri are all receiving nerfs in the upcoming patch. After their total dominance of appearance rate in the recent Demacia Cup, Riot has noticed their influence on both competitive and solo queue plays and will soon adjust all of these champions’ power, along with others like Aatrox, Dr. Mundo, Mordekaiser, and Rammus.

Horizon Focus and the new Mythic item Rod of Ages are being buffed to exploit tensions between tanks and ap items, though no specifics have been released.

Other items getting buffs include Axiom Arc and Winter’s Approach, while Jak’Sho, The Protean is getting some tweaks. This item in particular has enabled multiple fighter champions to thrive, with Phlox stating that improvements are aimed at making the item less valued on this class.

Riot Games can now start on bringing enjoyable things to League of Legends now that the pro-focused updates are done and the 2023 preseason is approaching.

The lead designer on Riot’s balancing team, Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, has revealed a list of changes for Patch 12.20. And, according to Riot, with the next patch coming, they will make Blitzcrank more viable in the jungle by removing part of his support strength.

Furthermore, Rammus, Jayce, Wukong, Gwen, Evelynn, and Ziggs are scheduled to gain further buffs in patch 12.20.

Riot also says Aatrox is still “too strong” after the Eclipse adjustments. As a consequence, Aatrox will be nerfed in the next patch. Furthermore, Sett and Maokai, one of the most picked and banned champions of Worlds 2022, are slated to be nerfed.
