In recent years, cosmetics have become a crucial aspect of Riot Games, not only in League of Legends but also in other Riot Games’ titles like VALORANT, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra.

To cater to the individual player bases of these games, Riot introduced exclusive skins that were only available within a specific game. While this pleased players, it didn’t sit well with those who played other Riot titles, particularly within the League of Legends universe.

Players noted the thematic similarities between League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, and Wild Rift, leading them to question why certain games had exclusive skins. Riot has since begun the process of porting some Wild Rift skins into League of Legends, such as some of the Star Guardian skins.

In response to the discussion, Matt Buchholtz, Riot’s Lead of Legends of Runeterra, clarified that skins are not locked exclusively to one game.

He explained that different teams at Riot create exclusive skins for their respective IPs, which means these skins may not appear in all games simultaneously. However, some skin lines, like Star Guardian and Soul Fighter, are shared across multiple games.

Buchholtz encouraged players to voice their preferences and requests regarding skins in their favorite Riot games’ titles. Riot is open to considering players’ feedback, although he emphasized that requests should be made respectfully and constructively.

Riot has a history of taking player feedback into account, as long as it’s conveyed in a constructive manner. He also provided information on where players can share their feedback.

In summary, this development is welcome news for players who wish to see their favorite skins appear in other Riot Games’ title. Players are encouraged to communicate their preferences, and Riot will internally discuss these requests.

The past year has shown that Riot is willing to listen to players’ feedback when it’s expressed in a different manner.

Chinese exclusive Broken Covenant Event has League fans outraged across all regions https://notagamer.net/chinese-broken-covenant-league-fans-outraged/ https://notagamer.net/chinese-broken-covenant-league-fans-outraged/#respond Tue, 21 Mar 2023 14:38:26 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=59573 Riot is caught up in yet another dispute as a result of the exclusive Broken Covenant event in China

The Broken Covenant LoL Skin Showcase was a complete catastrophe on global servers, but seeing what Riot Games and Tencent placed on the Chinese Server has only added to the community’s anger.

The Broken Covenant skin line was undoubtedly one of the year’s most anticipated skin lines. But everything went apart when Riot revealed that the new skin line would not be accompanied by an event. We didn’t just lose out on an event, but we also missed out on the free missions that come with most skin lines.

But it appears that Riot’s efforts have been in vain, as the Broken Covenant event has sparked yet another controversy. It all began when players discovered that only the worldwide servers received no Broken Covenant event, whereas the Chinese servers received a complete event.

Riot and Tencent have put on a fantastic event for the Chinese server, while global players have yet to receive their free missions or rewards for the Broken Covenant Skin Showcase. Riot has also released an exclusive artwork of Broken Covenant Prestige Miss Fortune, which you can see above, as well as a very unique battle pass with numerous levels to achieve.

According to BigBadBear’s clip, there are 75 levels in total in the Chinese Battle Pass, with three distinct categories. Loot varies depending on which battle pass the player purchases.

However, the event does not stop there; players can also obtain unique loot from the battle pass. The loot crates are aesthetically different, and some even contain prestige skins. The event also includes exclusive loot drops and a second event with a gacha system and more prizes, all of which are earned for free by merely playing League of Legends.

Many players are rightly outraged at Riot after discovering all of this information. It’s not reasonable that only players on the Global server are ignored while the servers are running, while Tencent receives superior rewards and experiences. Riot, hopefully, will handle this issue once more and will not deprive worldwide players of such events.

The most badass Corrupted skins got released by Riot Games, but not for League of Legends https://notagamer.net/corrupted-skins-released-riot-league-of-legends/ https://notagamer.net/corrupted-skins-released-riot-league-of-legends/#respond Mon, 02 Jan 2023 18:30:00 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=57067 Legends or Runeterra might got the most cool-looking skins Riot has ever made with these new skins

Legends of Runeterra is a card game based on the League of Legends universe. As a result, both games have numerous parallels, particularly in terms of cosmetics.

Many skin lines are available in both League and LoR. Battle Academia, Spirit Blossom, Star Guardian, Arclight, and many more. Not only that, but Legends of Runeterra, as much as Wild Rift, has several exclusive and unique skin lines. The Corrupted skin line is the most recently released and probably the best skin line Riot has ever made.

Riot launched the first Darkin Saga expansion, Awakening, in August. They included new champions like as Kayn, Jax, Master Yi, Ornn, and the first-ever LoR exclusive champion, Norra, in this expansion. In addition, they included new Path Of Champions weekly missions. Riot also launched a new event, Corrupted 2022, which debuted the Corrupted skin line.

Riot later confirmed in their Roadmap that a Corrupted 2.0 event will take place at the same time as the World Ender expansion. Even though Riot revealed this information about a month ago, which has been renamed Bloodwoven, players and fans are still astonished about the skin line.

Why is Wild Rift getting better skins than League of Legends? https://notagamer.net/wild-rift-better-skins-than-league-of-legends/ https://notagamer.net/wild-rift-better-skins-than-league-of-legends/#respond Sat, 31 Dec 2022 15:59:31 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=57014 The League of Legends fanbase has been continually stumped as to why Wild Rift receives special skins that never appear in League of Legends. The communities have erupted once more with the arrival of new Mythmaker skins.

The concerns leveled about Wild Rift are not new, and they mostly surround the fact that the MOBA mobile version obtains exclusive skins. The major reason is that players believe Riot Games favors Wild Rift more and are pushing for more fairness between the two titles.

Why Wild Rift has exclusive skins?

The release of new WR skins such as PROJECT: Zeri, Mythmaker Gwen, Glorious Crimson Nami… has heightened player displeasure, with the community asking if the skins are truly exclusive to the mobile edition.

Although the assumption that because both games use the same in-game splash arts and models, it should be far easier to move LoL skins to Wild Rift than to design one from scratch makes some logic at first look, it is far from reality.

To begin, it is important to recognize that Wild Rift and League of Legends are not the same game: the material, like the gameplay, differs. The mobile version is not a straightforward “copy and paste” of the original PC version. Furthermore, the two games are administered by separate teams.

Also, Wild Rift is getting skins that don’t exist in League of Legends since the LoL and WR teams are assessing content production requests with each of these games in mind entirely. They try to find out what makes sense to the two titles’ respective target audiences, then compare their thoughts.

With shared universes in which both games have a significant interest, bringing the best to fans of both titles is becoming increasingly crucial.

According to a Rioter, producing skins in Wild Rift takes twice as long as in LoL, owing to the animations of each skin. As a result, the WR team must select its skins long before they are released. When it makes sense, they design skins for both games at the same time, but when it doesn’t, each game receives exclusives, even if just for a short time.

Riot to improve Behavioral System, giving exclusive skin to Honor 5 players https://notagamer.net/riot-behavioral-system-skin-honor-5-players/ https://notagamer.net/riot-behavioral-system-skin-honor-5-players/#respond Sat, 12 Mar 2022 16:21:50 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=43225 Riot Games has revealed that League of Legends will get future behavioral system improvements, including an exclusive skin and recall VFX for players who have been positive.

Despite several measures in place to encourage players for non-disruptive behavior, League of Legends’ continuous battle with toxicity remains a factor of its game types. Riot Games is implementing a new strategy this year to strengthen the League behavioral system in order to better promote good conduct.

TimTamMonster, Riot’s new product lead for behavioral systems, posted a blog post discussing big improvements coming to League’s Honor system this year, as well as updates on patterns observed by punishment systems.

Tim outlined Riot’s aim to “reinforce positive play” by not just finding new ways to penalize negative players, but also rewarding those who maintain a strong one as part of the new behavioral system.

“This year, we’re upping the rewards with a new special recall VFX for players who are Honor 5 or have gotten an Honor from either a non-premade or two premades in their last game,” he said.

A new skin will also be released alongside the new recall animation as he stated that the skin will be rewarded for those who have achieved Honor level 5 as part of the End of Season rewards.

League has never provided such alluring incentives for reaching Honor level 5, the highest level a player may achieve. Along with the rewards, Tim highlighted a new emphasis on taking action against players who have been reported in champ choose as well as tackling the toxicity that has been in League since its debut. As of now, it is unknown which champion will receive the Honor level skin, but it is expected to be presented as the game goes throughout the year.
