Aatrox Overlord’s Bloodmail

The Aatrox Bruiser build made a strong comeback in 14.12 when the champion received a significant buff in his ultimate. No longer equipped with Lethality, Aatrox returns to familiar items such as Black Cleaver and Sundered Sky with stats suitable for dealing damage and staying long in combat.

However, there was one item that few people noticed that was very suitable for Aatrox, and that was Overlord’s Bloodmail. With Passives increasing AD based on missing health, this item will provide Aatrox with significant damange in combat, or 1v1 solos. In addition, the increase in AD is also significant as the current Aatrox is built according to the Bruiser gameplay.

Olaf Zeke’s

After Hecarim, another champion that is very suitable for Zeke’s build is Olaf. With a cheap price and extremely suitable defensive stats, Zeke’s is considered the third item that helps Olaf expand his power in a superior way in the middle and end of the match.

The passives from this item not only give Olaf more damage, but also provide the ability to slow down, which makes it better to chase down enemies when this champion does not have hard control. With the role of sweeping into combat thanks to his ultimate, Olaf is the most suitable champion to optimize the power of this equipment.

Of course, before that, Olaf couldn’t do it without some items with strong healing ability, at the moment, it is the Ravenous Hydra and the Sundered Sky.

Katarina AD Bruiser

Having emerged many times and then disappeared due to various edits, AD Katarina build is back in patch 14.13 with a very high efficiency in the Mid Lane.

Bard Warmogs

Players on the League subreddit have meticulously compared the visual effects of Nilah’s abilities, particularly focusing on the EQ combo, which appears eerily reminiscent of Morgana’s Dark Binding ability.

“It’s not that they look similar, is that they are literally the same it’s not even subtle. This is just another proof that this Coven skin drop feels lazy like Syndra and Elise’s, and even Nami’s legendary with bad animations,” 

“Smart to use same effect on 2 spells that have such different impact, in late game Morgana Q could be your death, imagine flashing Nilah Q in a teamfight lol,”

This similarity has not only been labeled as “lazy” by the community, but concerns have also been raised about potential ramifications for game clarity. Similar VFX can compromise the readability of abilities, impacting the overall game experience.

The discontentment extends beyond the issue of recycled VFX. Some players have voiced dissatisfaction with stiff animations for Nami’s Coven skin. Additionally, there are opinions suggesting that Akali does not seamlessly fit into the Coven universe, raising questions about thematic consistency. The broader sentiment among players is that this skin line feels incomplete and akin to “filler content.”

It’s pertinent to recall a similar situation with the Immortal Journey Kayle skin, which players noted was based on Ashe’s model. In response to community feedback, Riot acknowledged the concerns and made necessary adjustments to the skin.

As of now, Riot Games has not officially addressed the community’s outpouring of responses regarding the new Coven skins. However, considering past instances, it remains plausible that Riot might take the community’s feedback into account and implement changes in the near future.

Now that the teaser trailer is out, let’s take a look at the Coven skins scheduled for Patch 13.20.

League of Legends 2023 Coven Skinline teaser

The Coven skin line, highly popular among League of Legends players, will see several new additions in the upcoming month. The Coven skin line will feature skins for Akali, Elise, Nami, Nilah, and Syndra.

These skins were officially announced earlier today through a cinematic trailer. The trailer includes a monologue delivered by Nami, who delivers an inspiring speech to her fellow “sisters” within the coven. The trailer also contains mysterious references to “forgotten gods” and eerie vocal effects.

It’s expected that Nami, Akali, Elise, Nilah, and Syndra’s Coven skins will maintain the familiar crimson, gold, and blue color schemes. The overall theme of the skin line will likely continue to evoke images of roots, leaves, and other forest-related symbols.

In addition to the Coven skins, there’s also a new addition to the “Old God” skin line, which shares a similar theme but is designed for male champions. This time, Mordekaiser will join the Old God skin line.

Champions with the biggest missed opportunity

Players came together on Reddit to debate which champion missed the mark the most, and Nilah quickly emerged as a candidate. In their perspective, she has an incredible, rich mythology connected to a demon named Ashlesh, but her in-game kit and abilities just don’t match her potential.

“Mine is Nilah, if you could hear the joy water demon laugh maniacally or if you could see him fully or partly manifest then Nilah wouldn’t have been such a snorefest, I don’t mind her gameplay much but the production quality of the champ could have used an extra oomph”

“Nilah. Don’t get me wrong, I actually love the champ, but there’s so much more they could have done with a melee waterbender who is the physical prison of the Demon of Joy than just making her Water Yasuo”

With her lore linked to Ashlesh and her ability to bend the element of water, Nilah is reduced to a mid-range champion with skills mainly identical to Yasuo’s. She’s still enjoyable to play, but she seems strange and lacks lore accurate.

Other players also included Shyvana, Malzahar, Bel’Veth, and even Zilean. These are also compelling arguments.

Malzahar is a void acolyte, however his gameplay is mostly based on a single-target ultimate, making him a little lackluster. Thus, his gameplay always surrounds pushing lanes and roaming to other lanes, like Lissandra.

Shyvana is a dragon in part, albeit she only gets to display it every few minutes or so, and only her transformation feels dragony.

Bel’Veth, as Empress of the Void, she should possess some sort of abilities that support her title. While creating her own minions is somewhat accurate, but her gameplay is just extreme quick auto attacks with melee attack.

And last, Zilean. Based on his lore, Zilean is an ancient, powerful archmagi-tier chronomancer vv. Then you have his gameplay, throwing funny bombs, plain XP boost, plain XP boost, plain refresh boost, and even plain revive.

All these contain a number of key champions, but you can’t help but believe the lore provided more in terms of skills.

So far, 2023 has been a fantastic year for League of Legends skin. This year brought us some fantastic skin lines, including Inkshadow, and the recent Soul Fighter. According to recent sources, the Coven skinline will also make a comeback this year.

The coven skin line is one of League of Legends’ most popular skin lines. It belongs to the Eclipse world and has a range of stunning skins, like Coven Evelynn, Old God Malphite, The Thousand-Pierced Bear, and others.

Despite its enormous popularity, the skin line was not revived in 2022. However, it appears like Riot is planning to reintroduce the Coven skinline in 2023.

Champions to appear in 2023 Coven skin

BigBadBear, a well-known leaker, has released some new information on the fan-favorite Coven skin line recently. Riot is presently working on the Coven 2023 skins, according to the leaker. Though it is unclear how far the skin line research has proceeded. But we shouldn’t have to wait long.

The leaker revealed the names of five champions who would receive the skin. These champions are as follows:

• Akali
• Elise
• Nami
• Nilah
• Syndra

BigBadBear revealed that we will be getting Coven Syndra at some point, and that it would most likely be a Legendary skin. Fans have long desired a Coven Syndra, and they may finally receive one this year.

The Nilah and Elise skins are likely Epic, while Coven Nami could be a Legendary skin. Either Coven Syndra or Coven Nami could be a Legendary skin.

There are also rumors circulating that Coven Akali will have a Prestige Edition. Since Akali is already confirmed to receive a Prestige skin during Worlds 2023 event, there’s a chance Coven could arrive during Worlds.

Apart from the five mentioned Coven skins, we might also get additional Old Gods or Eclipse skins.

Riot holds enormous events across all of its titles every summer. This year will be no exception.

Around the same time last year, we received the Star Guardian event. It took place across several Riot titles, including League of Legends, Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics. While the idea was similar, each game in this event presented something completely distinct.

Riot has recently released a teaser that teases much of the forthcoming content in Wild Rift during this event.  A new game mode, a new “meta-game,” new objectives, and, most importantly, new skins are among the major contents.

Wild Rift players, in particular, will be treated to an exclusive story centred on Yasuo and Draven competing in the Tournament of Souls, similar to those seen in previous Sentinels of Light and Star Guardian events. Those who wish to put their talents to the test can participate in the mobile title’s limited-time “Tag Duel” mode, which plays similarly to a tag fighting game.

The Soul Fighter cast will also appear drastically different in Wild Rift compared to Lol, with none of the LoL skins making their way into Wild Rift. Instead, Wild Rift will receive six unique skins that only its players will be able to use, including Nilah’s debut skin.

The Soul Fighter event will be available on Wild Rift with patch 4.3 on July 19.

With patch 12.14 nerfing enchanter supports and a recent buff to Taric, he is now one of the strongest supports in this meta.

Furthermore, he is a support champion that works best with melee champions, as opposed to the typical design of supports who perform around marksmen. And Nilah is the perfect champion to work best with, even pro player Doublelift agreed with this. 

Why is this duo so strong in the current meta?

Nilah‘s passive, Joy Unending, is required for their exquisite synergy to be realized. Her passive ability restores part of the healing and shielding provided by her allies while also amplifying their own healing and shielding.

Taric’s heal and shield abilities already apply to himself. Taric and Nilah now form an unbeatable bot lane all-in combo.

Furthermore, Nilah’s E is a dash that allows her to dash past champions, allowing Taric to land his E on several targets with ease. This works wonderfully because her E has a double charge that can be utilized to either disengage or readjust if they manage to dodge the first dash.

And the last synergy is Taric Ultimate. Nilah benefits from extended team fights, which Taric’s ultimate help. His R grants him and his close allies’ invulnerability for a few seconds, eventually assisting the ADC to wipe out the entire enemy team.

In essence, it appears that these two champions are replacements for Samira and Rell. The synergy was created from the ground up, whereas the first failed despite Riot’s deliberate attempt at synergy, these two are a big success by coincidence.

According to League analytics websites Games of Legends and Leaguepedia, Nilah had not been selected in a major or minor area League game prior to today. Excel’s experimental Nilah choice, however, was unable to give them the advantage they needed.

In just over 28 minutes, Excel was defeated by G2. Their ADC struggled with his own performance as well. His 1/4/1 score on the day wasn’t nearly enough to keep Excel in the game until the middle to late periods.

With a stunning final score of 9/0/8, G2 ADC Flakked made an example out of Excel’s bottom lane on the other side of the Rift, effectively forming a bottom lane canyon that Patrik and Excel were helpless to counter.

Despite having a kill and an assist early on in the game and even having a gold advantage of up to 1,200 over the opposing ADC at one point, Patrik fell behind after G2’s Sivir-focused composition started to transition towards the mid-game.

Nilah eventually was selected in the LEC after 25 games. With the July 13 launch of Patch 12.13, she was included in the League. Despite being active in all four of the major professional League regions, she hasn’t been selected anyplace else in the world.

Tomorrow against Team BDS, Excel, who are now on a three-game losing streak, will try to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Nilah joins Gwen, Master Yi and Sivir among the first to get adjusted in Patch 12.13, July 14

The Joy Unbound was at 52.21% winrate out of 170.000 matches as Bot Lane ADC before the nerf according to u.gg. That’s quite concerning for a new champion.

The xp and heal shares made the champion broken on release. And it seems Riot wants her to retain that identity.

Today’s nerfs target Nilah’s stats with minor ones aimed towards her Q and E. These changes should make Nilah scale a bit worse into mid and late game.
