A notable aspect that has long been awaited by players is the tradition of ranked rewards, a recognition prizes upon those who participated in ranked games throughout the year.

New Victorious Tryndamere and Three Honors Akshan release

Traditionally, League players would have already received their well-earned ranked rewards by this time. However, with a unique scenario unfolding in 2023—marked by the absence of an official preseason period—Riot has adjusted its approach.

Ranked rewards will not be distributed until early next year, affording players the opportunity to continue their journey up the ranked ladder until the day before the commencement of the next season.

Speaking of which, League’s 2023 Ranked Split Two is scheduled to conclude on January 9, signaling the commencement of the 2024 ranked season on the subsequent day, January 10.

A distinctive feature of this year’s ranked experience is the introduction of multiple Victorious skins, with the upcoming skin awarded for achieving a number of split points being dedicated to Tryndamere. This follows the earlier release of the Victorious Anivia skin at the conclusion of Split One, showcasing Riot’s commitment to enhancing the reward system with the introduction of two splits in rank.

For players who maximize their ranked achievements, another exciting addition awaits. A skin will be granted to those who attain the highest level of honor points, and the latest addition to the Three Honors skin line, Three Honors Akshan, is set to be unveiled.

Riot introduced ‘Fist Bumps’ for good behavior in League of Legends https://notagamer.net/riot-fist-bumps-good-behavior-league-of-legends/ https://notagamer.net/riot-fist-bumps-good-behavior-league-of-legends/#respond Fri, 24 Nov 2023 04:28:50 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=67203 The upcoming 2024 season of League of Legends is poised to bring a slew of modifications, ranging from substantial alterations like transformations in the map, the replacement of Mythical Items, and adjustments to Baron and Rift Herald dynamics. These changes, visible and impactful, have garnered significant attention.

However, amidst these major adjustments, there are subtle yet pivotal enhancements to the gaming experience that often go unnoticed in discussions.

One particularly modest yet impactful addition is the incorporation of Fist Bumps. This innovative feature is designed to uplift team morale following commendable plays. In a game where communication often tends to be transactional, focused on strategic coordination for victory, Fist Bumps aim to foster a more social dynamic among players. The intent is for teams to feel a sense of mutual support and respect.

Riot add ‘Fist Bump’ to League of Legends

Riot introduced ‘Fist Bumps’ for good behavior in League of Legends 7

The interactive emote is triggered when a player initiates a fist bump, and at least one teammate reciprocates with the emote. This activates a delightful animation showcasing the teammates’ fist bumps.

Interestingly, the choice of the ‘fist’ for this emote coincides with Riot’s logo, suggesting a thoughtful link to positive and uplifting aspects envisioned when the logo was created a decade ago.

The emote has the potential for a 5-man fist bump celebration if the entire squad responds. Accompanying this gesture is a display of fireworks emerging from the bumped fists. This small yet impactful addition can go a long way in boosting players’ spirits, whether they are facing challenges during the match or celebrating victories in significant team fights or objectives.

Scheduled to go live with Patch 14.1 in early January 2024, the Fist Bumps feature adds a layer of camaraderie and positivity to the gaming experience, aligning with the broader theme of positive changes in the preseason of 2024.

Riot Games teased Summoner’s Rift map updates for preseason 2024 https://notagamer.net/tease-summoners-rift-map-updates-preseason-2024/ https://notagamer.net/tease-summoners-rift-map-updates-preseason-2024/#respond Wed, 18 Oct 2023 14:15:08 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=66059 Summoner’s Rift map potential changes: Baron Pit, River Pathing, Terrains

Potential alterations are on the horizon for key elements of the Summoner’s Rift map in League of Legends, according to information gleaned from the Coven SFX preview video on YouTube by SkinSpotlight.

While the details are not confirmed and originate from the PBE server, they suggest substantial changes that could have a profound impact on the game’s meta. Notably, the river and the bush adjacent to the mid-lane appear wider, potentially influencing early-game dynamics, skirmishes, and map control.

A broader river could intensify the competition for the scuttle crab, potentially altering its path and complicating early-game strategies. Increased team fights in the river might make the waterwalking rune more popular, affecting champion choices and playstyles.

Riot Games teased Summoner's Rift map updates for preseason 2024 8

What even is this pathing??

Support players might also face challenges in covering vision in the wider river, and the dynamics of river skirmishes could shift with the removal or replacement of choke points.

The potential closure of the path from mid to the bottom, as suggested by the leaked Summoner’s Rift map image, could have significant implications for jungle pathing. Early-game jungle impact on the bottom lane might diminish, leading to more action in the mid and top lanes. Junglers may need to adapt their pathing and ganking strategies, especially considering the wider river’s impact on skirmishing capabilities.

Riot Games teased Summoner's Rift map updates for preseason 2024 10

Also, a particularly striking revelation is the potential removal of the Baron pit from Summoner’s Rift. The absence of the Baron pit could reshape the fundamental gameplay, as many mid to late-game strategies revolve around control of this key objective. The removal of the Baron pit would necessitate a significant shift in the core meta, and while there’s speculation that Baron could be relocated, the full extent of these changes remains unclear.

It’s essential to note that these details may be subject to experimentation by Riot Games or could be part of a broader set of changes expected in the preseason. As more details emerge, the League of Legends community awaits further insights into the potential transformations coming to the Summoner’s Rift map.

League of Legends: Champion Mastery system is confirmed to receive changes https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-changes-champion-mastery/ https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-changes-champion-mastery/#respond Wed, 06 Sep 2023 08:42:59 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=64634 Riot has spoken about modifying Champion Mastery in League of Legends

Riot has just provided a lot of information on League of Legends. The dev update highlighted upcoming preseason improvements such as Mythic item modifications, newly enhanced AI for Bots, three ranked splits, and more.

League of Legends: Champion Mastery system is confirmed to receive changes 12

The introduction of the Multi-Disenchant Feature is one of the new features. This one, while a welcome addition, has some drawbacks. Players, understandably, have issues with it, and Riot has explained why this is the case. Besides that, Riot has also mentioned that Champion Mastery may change in the future.

New changes for Champion Mastery in the future

Riot BarackProbama mentioned the Multi-Disenchant Feature and Champion Mastery as a reply comment in a Reddit thread.

The majority of the comment was on the Multi-Disenchant Feature, although Riot BarackProbama turns a little at the end. He mentions Champion Mastery, which Riot is supposedly testing to see how it will operate in the future.

League of Legends: Champion Mastery system is confirmed to receive changes 13

In League of Legends, you will be awarded with Mastery points in-game for each match played on a champion, and S ratings will provide you the highest chance of progressing quickly.

To advance in the Mastery rank, you must gather shards and Mastery tokens. Riot, on the other hand, is dissatisfied with the current system and is trying to reform it. Future updates will also be incorporated into the Multi-Disenchant Feature.

As a result, Riot is seeking ways to strengthen the Champion Mastery system. Riot BarackProbama has said that they would disclose specifics about adjustments once they have been finalised. As a result, we may have to wait a bit to see what Riot comes up with.

Riot explained why Mid-scopes and Reworks are being postponed https://notagamer.net/riot-mid-scopes-reworks-postponed/ https://notagamer.net/riot-mid-scopes-reworks-postponed/#respond Wed, 30 Aug 2023 11:43:19 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=64396 Riot has come out to explain why some of the mid-scope updates and champion reworks are being held back

Riot Games delivered a bombshell on us all on August 28 when they revealed that Mythic items would be removed with League of Legends preseason 14 and ranked season will feature another split in their newest Dev Update video.

Riot Games on why postponing mid-scope updates

Putting that aside, the developers have also postponed mid-scope reworks. Andrei “Meddler”‘ van Roon highlighted in a comment of a Reddit post that mid-scope updates are presently on hold when addressing the major preseason adjustments coming to the game.

According to Meddler, this is because the devs that work on mid-scopes are (mostly) the same crew that works on the preseason, thus that’s where their attention is right now.

“Once preseason work’s out of the way we’ll take a look at things and see whether to put mid-scopes, other work or a mixture of the two on the docket,”

Midscope updates, unlike reworks, usually merely involve modifications to the champion’s kit and do not include any big visual or sound effect upgrades. The most recent example is Ivern’s modification in Patch 13.11, which changed his power from enchantment and buff-sharing to a more aggressive playstyle.

When addressing the release schedule for major preseason improvements, Meddler revealed how everything will be rolled out in one huge patch, followed by a few of smaller updates.

In other words, the following preseason will be densely packed and thoroughly formed by the time the season is released.

Riot confirmed removing Mythic Items system and reworking it entirely in Preseason 2024 https://notagamer.net/riot-remove-mythic-items-system-preseason-2024/ https://notagamer.net/riot-remove-mythic-items-system-preseason-2024/#respond Tue, 29 Aug 2023 13:52:56 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=64373 Mythic Items have been a hot topic of discussion recently, with Riot confirming their future in a recent Dev update video

Mythic items have been one of the most problematic additions to League of Legends in recent years, but it appears they have served their purpose.

Some players worried about how limited Mythic items may be to a champion’s build path, while others were pleased with how simple builds were for certain champions. Whether you support or oppose them, Riot is dissatisfied with the way Mythic items have been implemented in today’s game and with the community.

Mythic items system is being removed in 2024

Riot has previously hinted about removing the Mythic items system, which is a fantastic idea if they can replace it. They appear to have recognised it, since Riot announced in the most recent dev video that Mythic items system are being removed.

Riot Pupulasers mentioned the removal of Mythic Items in the recent dev update video. The explanation is because Mythic Items were too restricted for many champions, causing some itemization issues.

Several Riot developers have already discussed this issue, since there were too few Mythic items to match too many distinct sorts of champions. As a result, Riot has chosen to remove the system and alter how it function.

For the time being, Riot has said that the existing Mythic items will be adjusted such that they are not the main focus of a build.

Aside from that, while the Mythic item tier will be removed next year, some of the store’s most popular items, such as Trinity Force and Infinity Edge, will stay. These items can also be purchased simultaneously, although much work will be required to balance.

Mythic Items might be removed in LoL preseason 2024, and here’s why https://notagamer.net/mythic-items-removed-lol-preseason-2024/ https://notagamer.net/mythic-items-removed-lol-preseason-2024/#respond Sat, 26 Aug 2023 01:52:55 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=64266 Riot is more likely to remove the Mythic Item system from League of Legends during preseason 2024

Mythic items were included in the early days of the 2021 League preseason, along with a store UI revamp. Despite the community’s mixed opinions regarding new things, notably mythic items, Riot still allows players to develop several build choices around a core item.

However, Riot has altered the functionality of several of these items over time. Since those changes, the most popular items have been Duskblade, Guinsoo, and Statikk Shiv. Even in Patch 13.17, two out of three items have been nerfed or adjusted.

They said in the midseason that this would be a last effort to explore what the Mythic system might achieve. Riot has since expressed their dissatisfaction with the Mythic system. As a result, we might see the system altered in preseason.

Riot Games about Mythic items in League of Legends

Mythic Items has had its share of issues. Riot Phroxzon has since been on the podcast Broken By Concept and discussed Mythic items around a month ago.

Riot Phroxzon commented on how the Mythic Item System may have functioned, such as having more Mythics for each champion and so forth. Yet, that would be a massive task, and it would make the game far too complicated.

As a result, it’s evident that Riot isn’t a fan of the existing Mythic item system. However, Riot Phroxzon mentioned on the same podcast that the ADC Mythic adjustments were partly due to them testing out the system’s future.

Riot Meddler weighed in, saying that the next dev update might go into more detail about it.

Given the views of two important members of League of Legends development team, the Mythic Item System may be phased out. However, the fact that the ADC Mythic changes was successful might change things. So, rather of removing the Mythic Item system, we may see a new version of it in 2024.

Nonetheless, nothing is certain until the Dev blog update is made public. It will be a difficult task to either replace or rebuild the system. So it’ll be fascinating to watch how it works out.

LoL players want Mythic Items gone, and Riot might actually do so https://notagamer.net/lol-mythic-items-gone-riot-might-do-so/ https://notagamer.net/lol-mythic-items-gone-riot-might-do-so/#respond Tue, 01 Aug 2023 15:43:24 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=63362 It’s been 2 years since Mythic items got introduced in League of Legends, and players are becoming bored of their lack of diversity, though, happily, Riot Games devs may have a remedy for this problem.

Mythic items were included in the early days of the 2021 League preseason, along with a store UI revamp. Despite the community’s mixed opinions regarding new things, notably mythic items, Riot still allows players to develop several build choices around a core item.

However, because the meta changes drastically, and, if not all, these Mythic items are no longer useful. Instead, they’ve become a barrier, and players have joined together to Reddit on July 30, and want them modified or removed permanently.

Riot will be making adjustments to Mythic items

Many items were adjusted or brought back in League Patch 13.10 like Statikk Shiv, or Rod of Ages, but players claim it wasn’t enough to justify obtaining Mythics because they limit build possibilities and don’t give enough value.

rod of ages

The fact that they are essential in making your champions stronger compared to Legendary items annoys a lot of players as well.

What’s intriguing is that the Riot balancing team is already aware of the Mythics issue and is working on a solution.

Riot balancing boss Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison addressed this problem in an interview with Broken By Concept weeks ago, claiming that Mythics didn’t work out as planned and didn’t provide players with the options they want.

Internally, the devs are also dissatisfied with Mythic items themselves and plan to make some modifications in the future.

Unfortunately, we don’t know when Mythic item adjustments will arrive on the Rift, but we do know Riot isn’t thrilled either, so keep your fingers crossed! 2024 preseason is getting close and probably, Riot will implement some changes to the Mythic items at that time.
