Riot Games has been focusing more on updating champions in League of Legends recently. Earlier this year, they released an update for Jax, finally rolled out a rework for Skarner, and are currently working on an overhaul for Shyvana.

It’s encouraging to see that Riot continues to revamp older champions. The next champion slated for a visual update appears to be Miss Fortune, as a new VFX update has been leaked.

Upcoming VFX Update for Miss Fortune

From the footage, it is evident that Riot is enhancing the visual appearance of Miss Fortune’s abilities. Her bullets are now larger and more noticeable, and the effects are more prominent and impactful, making her abilities stand out more during gameplay.

However, this version does not seem to be fully polished yet, as some elements still appear a bit rough. It is likely that Riot is continuing to work on refining these updates.

As for the release date of the VFX update, there is no confirmed information available at the moment. Therefore, we will have to wait a bit longer to see the final version of Miss Fortune’s revamped visual effects.

All LoL Patch 14.10 Rune changes in the midseason update https://notagamer.net/lol-patch-14-10-rune-changes-midseason/ https://notagamer.net/lol-patch-14-10-rune-changes-midseason/#respond Tue, 14 May 2024 11:12:31 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=74383 Riot Games is making significant changes to League of Legends with Patch 14.10, which is the midseason update. This patch includes a large number of updates to the game, particularly with Runes being added, removed, and adjusted.

Patch 14.10 midseason rune changes

Runes play a crucial role in gameplay, as players need different setups and optimal choices for all champions. With Patch 14.10, Riot aims to provide better options by changing the current system. As a result, several will be removed from the game. Here are the list of runes being removed:

  • Future’s Market
  • Ingenious Hunter
  • Legend: Tenacity
  • Lethal Tempo
  • Minion Dematerializer
  • Overheal
  • Predator

Many of these Runes are being removed because they are considered niche choices. For example, Predator and Minion Dematerializer are not widely used. However, the removal of Lethal Tempo is different. Riot has decided to remove Lethal Tempo because it disrupts the item system and allows champions to gain Attack Speed without needing Attack Speed items.

League of Legends’ best and worst runes are being removed from the game 1

In addition to these removals, some Runes will be directly replaced or reworked under new names. Riot is also making significant changes to existing ones to fill in the gaps left by the removed ones. Overall, these changes will lead to a shift in players’ choices moving forward.

Riot Games to target ‘inconsistent’ hitboxes in upcoming League of Legends update https://notagamer.net/riot-games-target-hitboxes-upcoming-update/ https://notagamer.net/riot-games-target-hitboxes-upcoming-update/#respond Thu, 25 Apr 2024 15:31:51 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=73305 Hitboxes to be targeted in the upcoming patches

In an effort to enhance the consistency of hitboxes for each champion in League of Legends, game designer Phreak has addressed existing inconsistencies. The initial wave of adjustments is slated to debut in the upcoming Patch 14.9 update, set to roll out next week.

league of legends

Riot Phroxzon talked about Phreak’s focus on consistency during a patch preview on April 22. They want to make it easier to select champions and target them with spells. Phroxzon mentioned that champions’ hitboxes should match their size better, like not having a “Yordle-sized” Warwick or Briar.

Over the years, there have been small changes to these features, mostly for single-target attacks or abilities like Graves’ Q and Nautilus’ Q. Recently, Smolder had a small adjustment because his hitbox didn’t match his model exactly.

In Patch 14.9, 34 champions will have their hitboxes changed in three areas: the actual hitbox, the clickbox, or their ability to block minions. Yuumi and K’Sante will have changes in all three areas, with most champions getting changes to their clickbox, which is the area around the champion’s model.

We don’t know if every champion will get these changes eventually, but many are getting updated next week. The goal is to make all units in the game more consistent, not just champions.

We’ll probably get a list of all the champions getting changes before Patch 14.9 comes out next week. This update will also have changes to the ranked system and more nerfs for Skarner.

This LoL Rune needs a rework immediately – LoL players called out https://notagamer.net/lol-rune-rework-immediately/ https://notagamer.net/lol-rune-rework-immediately/#respond Wed, 24 Apr 2024 15:14:46 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=73177 League of Legends players are urging Riot Games to either rework or remove the Predator rune due to its limited usefulness and extremely low pick rate.

Predator rune in League of Legends desperately needs an update

This LoL Rune needs a rework immediately – LoL players called out 5

Within the League of Legends community, there’s a growing chorus of players calling for Riot Games to either completely overhaul or eliminate the Predator rune from the game. This plea comes as a result of the rune’s dismal popularity among players, prompting many to suggest replacing it with a different option, which could potentially introduce new strategies to the MOBA.

In League of Legends, runes provide players with a variety of enhancements based on their preferences. These runes shape specific playstyles, potentially transforming how certain champions are approached. These enhancements can range from increased damage to enhanced defenses.

This LoL rune is MEANT to be underpowered – Riot August explained why 1
Image via Riot Games

The Predator rune, found within the Domination tree, is typically favored by assassins and aggressive champions seeking to dish out damage and bridge the gap between themselves and their targets.

Initially, Predator granted an enchantment to boots that bestowed a burst of speed when moving towards enemies, a feature seemingly tailor-made for jungle champions. However, despite its apparent suitability, the rune has failed to gain traction among players, leading many to advocate for its removal.

Expressing their sentiments on a Reddit thread, players lamented the underwhelming status of the Predator rune, with many saying that it should be replaced by a more appealing option. While acknowledging that some players might miss it, the consensus is that they would be in the minority.

Originally, the Predator rune was considered overpowered, prompting subsequent nerfs and adjustments. However, despite these efforts, it has fallen behind other rune choices in terms of effectiveness. This decline is particularly disappointing for players who appreciated how the rune altered gameplay dynamics.

Some players reminisced about other runes, such as Unsealed Spellbook and Kleptomancy, which have since been removed from the game. These runes were praised for their ability to drastically alter gameplay strategies. However, with no updates to the Predator rune since Season 12, it appears unlikely that it will receive any significant changes in the near future.

Moreover, Arena introduces a groundbreaking item tier known as “Prismatic.” These exclusive items boast unparalleled stats and effects, empowering players to build unque champion builds.

Unlike conventional items, Prismatic items cannot be purchased directly from the shop; instead, players are presented with a selection of random Prismatics during specific rounds, reminiscent of the Augments system from previous version.

Arena also introduces the concept of Anvils, consumable items available for purchase in the shop. These Anvils offer players a choice of three random items within predefined categories, ranging from Prismatic and Legendary to Stat. Not only are Anvils a cost-effective way to purchasing individual items, but they also add an element of unpredictability to itemization strategies.

Furthermore, the ranked season will be accompanied by refined matchmaking rules, ensuring a competitive yet enjoyable experience for all players.

Excitement for Arena’s return is palpable, with the mode already making its debut on the League of Legends PBE on April 15. Its official release for the wider player base is scheduled for May 1, coinciding with the launch of patch 14.9. While the ranked system’s implementation is slated for patch 14.10, players can rest assured that Riot Games is committed to delivering an immersive experience.

League of Legends MMORPG is ‘resetting’, Riot Games gave important updates https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-mmorpg-resetting/ https://notagamer.net/league-of-legends-mmorpg-resetting/#respond Thu, 21 Mar 2024 16:28:00 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=72019 Riot Games gave updates on League of Legends MMORPG

The gaming community is buzzing with anticipation for Riot Games’ ambitious project, an MMO based in the expansive universe of League of Legends. Despite the lack of an official title or even a codename, the game has garnered significant attention.

However, the development journey has been anything but smooth, leading to concerns among the fanbase about the eventual release of this highly awaited game.

League of Legends MMORPG is ‘resetting’, Riot Games gave important updates 11

In a development that broke a year-long silence without substantial updates, Mark Merrill, Riot’s Chief Product Officer, shed light on the current state of the project. He revealed that the development team faced a pivotal moment, choosing to “reset the direction” of the MMO.

This strategic pivot aims to ensure the game can offer a unique experience within the crowded MMO market space. While this decision underscores Riot’s commitment to quality and distinctiveness, it also implies a longer development timeline, delaying further updates and pushing back the eventual release.

“The initial vision just wasn’t different enough from what you can play today,”

“We don’t believe you all want an MMO that you’ve played before with a Runeterra coat of paint; to truly do justice to the potential of Runeterra and to meet the incredibly high expectations of players around the world, we need to do something that truly feels like a significant evolution of the genre.”

To steer the MMO in its new direction, Riot Games has appointed Fabrice Condominas as the executive producer. Condominas brings a wealth of experience from his time at major industry players like Riot, BioWare, and EA, promising a fresh and seasoned perspective to the project’s leadership.

Riot Games has maintained a cautious approach regarding the MMO’s release, avoiding any commitments to specific launch dates or windows. This discretion is even more pronounced now, with the development team’s strategic shift underscoring the uncertainty of the project’s timeline.

Initial speculations, dating back two years, suggested a possible launch around 2025. However, given the recent overhaul in development strategy, any predictions regarding the game’s release have become increasingly speculative.

Update on League MMORPG from dev: “There was actually a strategy in place here!” 2

The League of Legends MMO is set to be a monumental addition to Riot Games’ portfolio, expanding on the lore-rich universe already beloved by fans. While the wait may be longer than expected, the promise of a game that stands out in the MMO genre makes the anticipation worthwhile.

Throughout the history of League of Legends, players have engaged in passionate discussions and arguments on various topics, but none have rivaled the intensity of the age-old dispute regarding whether the D or F key is the correct one for Flash, a critical Summoner Spell used by almost all champions.

LoL devs finally end the Flash on ‘D’ or ‘F’ debate with updates 12

The battle between the D players and the F has persisted since the inception of the game, with players defending their preferred key in a rivalry that has become legendary within the League of Legends community.

However, the latest patch notes, specifically in Patch 14.2, contain a revelation from Riot Games that decisively settles the debate.

LoL devs on Flash D or F

Within the patch notes addressing bug fixes and improvements, Riot Games acknowledged a particular issue related to Flash.

“Fixed a bug that caused players to be able to flash out of grounded zones they had teleported onto if they were spamming the key, F.”

The bug in question allowed players to Flash out of grounded zones they had teleported onto if they were rapidly pressing the key, designated as “F.” This revelation serves as the developers’ official stance on the matter, confirming that the correct key is indeed “F.”

The resolution of this age-old question by the League of Legends developers, asserting that “F is for Flash,” has put an end to the protracted dispute, offering clarity to players who have been divided on this issue for years.

Ranked MMR changes in League of Legends Patch 14.2 https://notagamer.net/ranked-mmr-changes-league-of-legends-patch-14-2/ https://notagamer.net/ranked-mmr-changes-league-of-legends-patch-14-2/#respond Thu, 25 Jan 2024 13:05:25 +0000 https://notagamer.net/?p=69494 In the ongoing efforts to enhance the competitive experience within League of Legends, Riot Games has recently addressed certain aspects of rank MMR in the latest update, Patch 14.2.

As part of their commitment to refining the matchmaking system, improvements have been implemented since the commencement of Season 2024, with specific focus on adjustments to LP gains and losses for players in the Emerald and higher tiers.

The developers have set a forward-looking tone by teasing the potential incorporation of a new MMR tool called TrueSkill 2 later in the year. While this tool holds promise for the future, the immediate attention in Patch 14.2 has been directed towards resolving existing issues and bugs within the current matchmaking. The aim is to provide a more stable and reliable matchmaking experience for players.

Patch 14.2 Ranked MMR and Matchmaking changes

  • Reducing the amount of games of demotion protection from tier boundaries (eg. Gold to Silver). This should only affect people who seed/promote into the bottom of a rank tier (eg. Gold 4) and then lose many games in a row. It will make no difference if you’ve been in the rank for a while.
  • Fixed a bug where a small number of Diamond 1 players would sometimes receive negative LP gains (losing more LP on losses than gaining on wins). Unfortunately, while we cannot immediately resolve this issue for existing accounts, the problem will resolve itself with some games.
  • Fixed a bug where players who would be seeded into Iron IV were seeded into Iron II with negative LP gains.

Outlined in the official patch notes are several fixes targeting bugs and issues within the system. Although these changes do not represent a fundamental overhaul of the matchmaking structure, they signify a dedication to addressing immediate concerns and ensuring the integrity of the competitive environment.

Notably, a specific adjustment has been made for Diamond 1 players, offering a positive shift in LP gains after just one win and one defeat, provided their win rate remains within the normal range. It’s important to note that players in this tier may need to participate in a few additional games to observe the full effects of these changes.

While the current patch primarily focuses on bug fixes and immediate concerns, the community is encouraged to anticipate more substantial alterations and improvements to MMR and matchmaking in upcoming patches.

League of Legends, renowned for its complexity with diverse champion abilities, matchups, and team dynamics, boasts a steep learning curve that can be intimidating for new players.

Understanding the complexity of the game often involves a trial-and-error approach, which may discourage new players from playing the game. Recognizing this challenge, Riot Games introduced the Practice Tool, providing players with a sandbox environment to experiment with champions, combos, and their skills.

Practice Tool receives substantial QoL updates

While the Practice Tool has been available for a considerable period, Riot is now elevating the mode by introducing new features to enhance and customize players’ experiences.

In the latest patch, one notable addition allows players to apply specific status effects to themselves. This innovative feature enables testing of various interactions without the need for another players or bots, offering options like Stunned, Silenced, Blinded, Rooted, and more. It’s worth noting, however, that these effects can only be applied to the player and not to enemies.
